Indigen listening to Neptune ©2014
On a Summer day at Sope Creek in Atlanta, the sun, sky and clouds were reflecting in the clear, flowing water. One particular spot in the creek called me. This photograph has at least three Archetypal images, and you may also see others. The Indigene in profile faces left wearing a feather headdress and dominates the image, as this was his homeland. Looking directly from the middle side of his head is Neptune, a smaller, serious, weathered light gray face with tousled hair, a light beard, and grey sculpted chest. He holds his Trion down in his left hand. To the right of Neptune is a larger white face with large deep set features, a dark grey beard and mustache, perhaps a Pirate, looking over Neptune’s shoulder. I imagine an interesting conversation between the three souls.
